High Conductivity Purple Copper Rod - T1/T2/T3/TU1/TU2 Suppliers & Factory in China for Electrical Contacts and Heat Conducting Applications

,

Purple copper rod, a premium quality purple-red copper material, boasts a remarkable purity of 99.95% copper content. As a prominent copper alloy, it incorporates deoxidized and trace alloying elements, categorized into four key types: ordinary purple copper, oxygen-free copper, deoxidized copper, and special copper. This high-performance material exhibits exceptional conductivity and thermal conductivity, ranking just below silver. Additionally, it offers outstanding resistance to corrosion from atmospheric conditions, seawater, non-oxidizing acids, alkalis, and organic acids. Due to its superior properties, purple copper rods are widely utilized in various industries, including the manufacturing of corrosion-resistant components for heat exchange equipment, pipelines, and valves in the chemical sector. As a leading supplier and factory in China, we provide top-quality purple copper rods tailored to meet the needs of electrical, refrigeration, and other applications.

    Copper Rod

Copper rods have a much wider range of applications than pure iron. Every year, 50% of copper is electrolytically refined into pure copper for use in the electrical industry. The copper referred to here must indeed be extremely pure, containing at least 99.95% copper.

⚡ Key Purity Requirement: Even trace amounts of impurities — especially phosphorus, arsenic, and aluminum — can significantly reduce copper's conductivity. Copper used in the electrical industry must generally be oxygen-free.

The presence of oxygen in copper (small amounts are easily introduced during copper smelting) greatly affects conductivity. Furthermore, impurities such as lead, antimony, and bismuth can prevent copper crystals from bonding together, causing hot brittleness and affecting the processing of pure copper.

This high-purity copper is generally refined using electrolysis: impure copper (i.e., crude copper) is used as the anode, pure copper as the cathode, and copper sulfate solution as the electrolyte. When current flows, the impure copper on the anode gradually melts, and pure copper gradually precipitates on the cathode. Copper refined in this way can achieve a purity of 99.99%.

Red copper is a relatively pure type of copper, generally considered close to pure copper with excellent electrical conductivity and ductility.
Electrolytic refining achieves up to 99.99% purity — the standard for high-performance electrical applications.
Oxygen-free copper is required for electrical industry use to prevent conductivity reduction.

    Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is the minimum purity required for copper rods used in the electrical industry?
Copper rods used in the electrical industry must contain at least 99.95% copper. For the highest performance applications, electrolytically refined copper can achieve a purity of up to 99.99%, ensuring minimal loss of conductivity.
Q What model numbers are available for your copper rods?
We offer copper rods in the following model numbers: T1, T2, T3, TU1, TU2, and TU3. These grades cover both standard copper alloy and high-purity oxygen-free copper options to suit various industrial requirements.
Q What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for copper rods?
The minimum order quantity for our copper rods is 500 KG. For larger volume orders or custom requirements, please contact us directly for a tailored quotation and lead time.
Q What processing services are available for copper rods?
We provide a full range of processing services including bending, welding, decoiling, cutting, and punching. Custom lengths from 1000mm to 3000mm are available upon request to meet your specific project needs.
Q What certifications do your copper rods hold?
Our copper rods are certified under ROHS, ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 9001/14001:2004, ensuring compliance with international quality and environmental management standards for use in global markets.
Q Why is oxygen-free copper important for electrical applications?
Oxygen introduced during the copper smelting process can significantly reduce electrical conductivity. Oxygen-free copper (grades TU1, TU2) eliminates this issue, making it the preferred choice for high-performance electrical contacts, heat-conducting pipes, and precision instrument substrates.
