Brass Rod
Introduction
Copper rods are a type of non-ferrous metal processing rod, possessing good machinability and high electrical conductivity. They are mainly divided into brass rods (copper-zinc alloy, relatively inexpensive) and red copper rods (higher copper content).
Characteristics: Brass rods are rod-shaped objects made of an alloy of copper and zinc, named for their yellow color. Brass with a copper content of 56%–68% has a melting point of 934–967°C. Brass has excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance, and can be used to manufacture precision instruments, ship parts, and gun cartridges.
Different zinc contents result in different colors; for example, a zinc content of 18%–20% produces a reddish-yellow color, while 20%–30% produces a brownish-yellow color. Additionally, brass produces a unique sound when struck, hence its use in gongs, cymbals, bells, horns, and other musical instruments.

H59, H59-1, H59-2, H59-3, H60, H60-2, H62, H63, H65, H68, H70, H80, H90; C1100, C1020, C2680, C2800, C2600, C2801, C5191, C5210, C2200, C7521, C7541, C17200, C1070, C7701, QSn6.5-0.1, QSn8-0.3, QSn4-0.3, BZn18-18, BZn15-20, CuBe2, and many more.
58-3 & 59-1 Copper Rods belong to free-machining brass, available in both environmentally friendly and ordinary variants. Genuine extruded copper bars possess superior tensile strength, high hardness, and high straightness — widely used in precision copper parts for automotive components, medical devices, and electrical appliances.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q
What is the difference between brass rods and red copper rods?
Brass rods are made from a copper-zinc alloy and are relatively more affordable, while red copper rods have a higher copper content (usually above 99%) and offer superior electrical and thermal conductivity. Brass rods are preferred for mechanical parts, whereas red copper rods are typically used in electrical and heat-transfer applications.
Q
What grades of brass rods are available?
We offer a wide range of grades including H59, H62, H65, H68, H70, H80, H90, HPb59-1, and many more, as well as international equivalents such as C26000, C27400, C28000, and C17200. Custom grades can be discussed based on your specific application requirements.
Q
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
The minimum order quantity is 500 KG. For larger or custom orders, please contact us directly and we will provide a tailored quotation based on your specifications and volume requirements.
Q
What processing services do you provide for brass rods?
We offer a comprehensive range of processing services including bending, welding, decoiling, cutting, and punching. Our rods can be customized in length from 1000mm to 3000mm, or according to your specific requirements.
Q
What certifications do your brass rods carry?
Our brass rods are certified under RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), ISO 9001:2008, and ISO 14001:2004, ensuring they meet international standards for quality management and environmental compliance.
Q
What are the main applications of brass rods?
Brass rods are widely used across multiple industries, including air conditioning and refrigeration pipes, oil and water supply pipes, automotive synchronizer gear rings, marine pumps and valves, precision instruments, medical devices, electrical appliances, and various structural and friction components.
